First Fridays at Full Display: Celebrate with food, music, shopping, and family fun

Put it on the calendar, because you will not want to miss a thing. Burkesville kicks off a brand new season of First Fridays in downtown. Hosted by Revitalize Downtown Initiative, First Fridays have everything you’re looking for to make a fun Friday night, including entertainment, local flavor, and family-friendly activities.

Live Local Music on the Square

A favorite at past First Fridays, live local music is a great way to connect with your friends and neighbors in Burkesville and support our local musical artists. Our live local music stage provides the perfect space to relax and listen to familiar tunes or discover new ones. If the groove hits you, dancing in the street is totally allowed. The bands featured at First Fridays are always a family-friendly good time. 

Delicious Food from Local Vendors and Eateries 

It wouldn’t be a First Friday in Burkesville without some incredible food. Local food truck vendors are always a favorite option, so that everyone in the family can get what they’re craving. Maybe you’ve been eyeing a downtown eatery that you just haven’t visited yet. Now’s your chance to dine local and maybe discover your new favorite spot. 

Local Vendors and Boutiques Open for Shopping

You know downtown Burkesville is loaded with great shopping, but you probably haven’t had the chance to check them all out. Local vendors will be on hand with unique gifts, handmade goods, and one-of-a-kind finds. Our downtown boutiques will also be open and ready to welcome you in for a special, local shopping experience. This is your best opportunity to shop local and support small businesses. 

Classic Car Cruise-ins and Cool Rides

Car lovers, get ready. The coolest rides in the county make an appearance at First Fridays, too. Check out some local collectibles, meet the owners, and learn about the vehicle's history right on Courthouse Square. 

Kids’ Activities Galore

When we say family-friendly, we mean it. Kids are always welcome at First Fridays, and our local vendors show up and show out to show your kiddos a great time. One heartwarming tradition is the kids' canvas painting at Bill Guffey Fine Art Studio and Gallery, located at 500 Courthouse Square. Kids of all ages are welcome to stop by and set up at tables in front of the studio with easels, canvas, paint, and brushes. They head home with their own painting and a new appreciation for art!
Teaching kids to connect with their community is more important than ever. First Fridays in downtown Burkesville is the perfect opportunity to teach your kids that community is important and fun.
